The speakers will be asked to fill out a call for proposals form by July 20, 2024, and the application will be reviewed by the steering committee to maintain the high quality and integrity of the conference presentations. Workshops on residency programs and ERAS application process

Senior doctors such as attendants and residency program directors in the US and UK

45 minutes each workshop (20 minutes presentation + 25 minutes Q/A)

There will also be workshops held by senior doctors such as attendants and residency program directors in the US and UK on writing a compelling personal statement and how to efficiently navigate the ERAS application process in a manner that fits their residency programs. By attending the conference, medical students will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to attendants and program directors in breakout rooms and learn more about the work environment of different residency programs such as work-life balance, research opportunities, strengths of residents, how the program promotes teamwork amongst the medical staff members, etc.

Medical students will understand how applying to residency is different from applying to medical school, especially as residency programs prioritize fit—both for the specialty and their specific program. Students will understand how to make sure their applications demonstrate maturity, growth, dedication to medicine, and goals within the specialty which can only be understood by talking to and learning from the personal stories as well as inside advice given by attendants and residency program directors in different multiple medical fields. With thorough knowledge, students can be empowered to ensure that their goals and aspirations that they decide align with those of their target residency programs to which they apply.
